Description
7-1/2" Cheek Series
The 7-1/2" cheek style is the next line up in the tool box. Extremely versatile, this bit can be used for training drills, pleasure riding, or competition. This cheek has a 2-1/2" purchase with a 5" shank. The shank is swept back, like the 6" model, but to a lesser degree, which offers more leverage and control. The purchase/shank alignment ratio creates more pressure to all points of contact than the 6" cheek. When properly used and adjusted, it is still considered a mild cheek, but on with plenty of leverage to control the horse at increased speeds.
7-1/2": Smooth Snaffle Bit
A step up in control from the dogbone, the Smooth Snaffle is one of the most popular bits with all horsemen. The snaffle applies more pressure to the tongue than the dogbone does, giving it a quicker feel and causing a more immediate response. The horse realizes pressure on the chin, bars, and corners of the mouth. Widely used on horses for all types of riding and training activities. Good for lateral pull and collection and may be used with a training fork or martingale for increased control of the poll and nose.
